As part of the 8th Nuit de la Photo, Saturday, February 16, 2019, we organize a reading of portfolios the same afternoon between 13h and 16h. This reading is for photographers, photographers, professionals or amateurs for whom photography is an important activity. They will present their work to a jury made up of photographers, visual artists, teachers in the field of visual art, exhibition curators, museum directors, to have a critical opinion on their work. They are expected to present a coherent set of photos around a personal theme. The images (20 to 30) can be presented in the form of prints (max 30x40cm), on a laptop or in a book.
The application will become effective after a prior selection by the committee of the Night of the Photo, especially when the number of submitted files exceeds the capacity of the event, a dozen photographers. To apply for the February 16 reading, interested photographers must send an electronic file describing their report to the photograph and the process of what they intend to present to the jury members. The work will have to reach until January 25th, 2019, the selected photographers will receive the confirmation of their admission to the reading at the latest on February 8th, 2019.
Each photographer can spend about fifteen minutes with each of the 8 experts. These readings will last two hours, then the photographers will install their photos on the tables and experts can still go from one to another before voting in camera. A photographer will be chosen to participate in the 9th Night of Photography in 2020. The first phase of submission of the files is free. The reading selection of Saturday, February 16, 2019 implies a participation in the organization costs of 20.- CHF
The reading will take place in a room of the ESTER (School of the tertiary sector), rue du Progrès 38-40, in La Chaux-de-Fonds
The selected photographers will have to report to ESTER at 12.45 pm, the session will end around 4 pm, one hour before the opening of the "Night" at Club 44. Photographers who present digital images must take a computer with them.
