PHmuseum is a curated platform dedicated to contemporary photography. Since 2013 it has organised an annual grant aimed at discovering new talents and furthering photographers’ careers. Throughout its previous editions such judges as Kathy Ryan, Sarah Leen, Martin Parr, Arianna Rinaldo and Alec Soth have awarded the work of many photographers including Max Pinckers, Diana Markosian, Tomas van Houtryve, Salvatore Vitale and Clémentine Schneiderman, among others.

In this context, PHmuseum is glad to present a second annual grant aimed at supporting women photographers. The PHM 2017 Women Photographers Grant aims to empower the work and careers of female and female-identifying professionals of all ages and from all countries working in diverse areas of photography. It further means to facilitate the growth of the new generations and promote stories narrated from a female perspective, while responding to the necessity to fight against gender discrimination within the industry.

The Grant will oer £8,000 in cash prizes plus several opportunities listed below that aim to promote the awarded works across media and festivals. Applications will be reviewed by Donna Ferrato (Photographer), Alessia Glaviano (Senior photo editor for Vogue Italia and L’Uomo Vogue and Web Editor of Vogue.it), Rebecca McClelland (Director of Photography, Art Buyer and Creative Director) and Daniella Zalcman (Photographer, Founder of womenphotograph.com).

PHmuseum is a curated platform dedicated to contemporary photography. Launched in 2012, it is today a community of 5,000 selected photographers that is reached by more than 300,000 visitors per year.
