Louis De Belle (b. 1988) is an Italian photographer, currently completing a MFA at the Bauhaus University of Weimar. He works and lives in Berlin.

Ordinary Backdrops is a series witnessing the beauty of the ordinary. The photographs, all shot in Japan, depict a sense of plasticity found in ordinary yet peculiar views of the local suburban scenario. Grids and patterns contribute to an overall feeling of order, although disturbed by the imperfection of the everyday.

I'm often drawn to "non-places". There's always an intriguing tension between regular and nonsense, ordinary and absurdity.

And that inspires me to contemplate and frame such state of things: backdrops of everyday life, waiting for something to happen, yet being already protagonists of a careful composition.
