The Direction of The Festival Encontros da Imagem reaffirms the will to continue launching new authors - emerging, national and international.
With the aim of highlighting photographic authoral projects, the festival promotes a unique opportunity for artists from all over the world to participate through a public call - with the participation of an international jury composed by three elements - where any artist can be selected to show his/her work in this edition of the Festival Encontros da Imagem 2017.
The works from the selected authors -between 16 and 20 artists-, will be part of one or more group exhibitions which along with others, will be part of the programme of the Festival and will be exhibited in one or more spaces in the city of Braga. With this action, the festival becomes closer to communities and values the importance of the image in the construction of a collective memory.

Having been born in 1987, the Festival Encontros da Imagem celebrates thirty years of its founding. The 2017 edition will take place between 15th of September and 29th of October, and this will be a celebratory edition. ENCONTROS DA IMAGEM - 30 years
