Jessica Wolfelsperger (*1979 in Basel) studied photography at BTK University of Art & Design in Berlin. During and after her studies, she has assisted various photographers and artists in Berlin, New York and Copenhagen. Beside that, she attended courses at the Ostkreuzschool for Photography and completed a certificate as a curator at the University of the Arts (UDK) in Berlin. In 2015, she won the first prize of the vfg for emerging talent as young photographer Switzerland and in 2017 the Swiss Photo Award in the category Fine Art.  In the same year she was invited for the Artist Residency of the Verzasca Foto Festival. 2018 she was selected to participate in the mentoring program Parallel Photo Platform conceived by Procur.arte. Jessica Wolfelsperger's work has been exhibited internationally.

Do you know who I am is an ongoing project that focuses on homogenization in the Western world in terms of Instagram / social media and its immediacy in using a smartphone and creating constantly and instantly pictures. Jessica Wolfelsperger examines the potential of using social media that gives ultimate freedom and possibility for simply everyone to produce content and take part in the flow of images. Working with photography, video, generated text forms from the internet and with performance.
